Job Description
This position has a significant impact on the proper allocation of costs to products and inventory accuracy and therefore on the financial viability of company through lower capital employed, improved customer service, and improved information for management decisions. Responsible for analyzing, planning and developing policies, programs and procedures to most efficiently/effectively manage cost control methods and reports to management and long-range plans and interpretation of cost/budget variances.
Training will include, but not limited to the following:
- Monitor the cost accounting system by analyzing cost information on a daily, monthly, YTD basis to ensure that data is being compiled accurately, timely, and completely and work with the appropriate people, both internally and externally to correct problems.
- Maintain records necessary to review and determine individual product ingredient and packaging supply costs (i.e: ensure accuracy of bills of material, investigate significant material price changes)
- Develop and improve reporting into and out of the Material Accounting System ensuring accuracy and timeliness of completion of reports for management use.
- Ensure that inventories are properly valued by providing accurate ingredient and packaging write-offs, correct ingredient and packaging costs, and meaningful prorate basis. Manage obsolete inventory. Schedule and reconcile physical inventories.
- Develop and plan special financial analysis designed to increase profit potential and/or reduce cost. Compile regular and special statistical reports.
- Monitor DC and plant finished goods inventories and provide assistance and expertise necessary to ensure corporate variance goals are met.
- Maintain viable material accounting system while constantly pursuing meaningful improvements and/or refinements. Maintain and develop documentation programs and procedures for major cost systems.

Job Qualifications
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership skills
- Knowledge and/or experience in team based environments is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to spend time in the plant with team members during all shifts is required.
- A professional internship or relevant work experience
- 3.0 GPA or higher (strongly preferred)

This knowledge will be gained through a training program that will include exposure to both a plant location and the Corporate Headquarters.
