Job Description
The summer internship is the first step of the Ralcorp Supply Chain Finance Associate program which is a fast track training program for key finance positions at Ralcorp. Ralcorp is a $3.5B publicly traded food manufacturing company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri and Downers Grove, Illinois with manufacturing plants located around the country.
The internships will be at a Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products Division Plant as well as at the Division Headquarters in Downers Grove, Illinois.
Supply Chain Finance Associate Program: Successful program participants will have the skills and experiences to achieve a Plant Controller position in the field or Financial / Accounting Manager at the headquarters in 6 - 8 years. After graduation, successful interns would then start in the Supply Chain Finance Associate position at a manufacturing plant, reporting directly to the Plant Controller where training and development is expected to last 18 to 24 months.
Supply Chain Finance Summer Internship responsibilities include training and experience in a broad range of accounting, internal control, and financial planning activities:
Accounting Process:
- Participate in plant period close accounting related tasks.
- Participate in physical inventory cycle counts.
- Cover a plant accounting responsibility for 6 - 8 weeks (Production Accounting, A/P, fixed assets, etc.).
Internal Controls Testing:
- Complete Q3 Sarbanes – Oxley control test and/or an Internal Audit self assessment test.
Financial Analysis Project:
- Working with subject matter experts to complete one or two projects analyzing costs, developing insights, and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Present the results of the analysis at the local plant and also at the Division Head Quarters in Downers Grove, Illinois along with SCFA interns from other plants, and network with finance and accounting leaders at an intern outing (e.g. Cubs or White Sox game).
Working Relationship:
- Daily works with Accounting Manger, Plant Controllers, and Accountants as well as plant supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering professionals.
- Weekly interactions with Controller and/or Director of Supply Chain Finance on results of analysis.
Division President, CFO and other leaders at intern presentations and networking event.

Job Qualifications
|
- 1 - 2 years of progress towards a B.B.A. or B.S. in business with an Accounting or closely related major.
- Demonstrated interest in cost accounting and operations through course work or previous internships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with senior management.
- Computer savvy, knowledge of ERP systems, and very strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills.
