Job Description

      - Responsible for the efficient operation of all production machinery to assist production in meeting production schedules, minimizing waste, maximizing output, employee training, safety, GMPs, and housekeeping.
- Responsible for keeping machinery and support systems operating at maximum efficiency.
- Responsible for keeping all PMs up to date.
- Must maintain a good working relationship with all other departments and other maintenance shifts.
- Must encourage teamwork among all Maintenance Associates when dealing with each other and all other Associates.
- Train and cross train other maintenance supervisors and mechanics in performing a wide range of both mechanical and electrical repairs on a vast range of equipment.
- Required to come in during off shift if needed for breakdowns. Must provide phone number, cell phone, or pager number and be available to be contacted during these off hours.
- Must be able to complete project jobs from ordering material to completed job.
- Insure all mechanics, visitors, contractors, and all other Associates on your assigned shift are following all Company and OSHA rules relating to safety, GMPs, security, and PPE policies and guidelines to keep the plant in compliance.
- Insure all mechanics are following all the ADEM and EPA rules and regulations and assist the Maintenance Manager in collecting all the required data and records of inspection to keep the plant in compliance.
- Responsible for keeping the shop and all maintenance areas AIB ready at all times.
- Administering disciplinary action in accordance with Company policy.
- Responsible for isolating repetitive line problems, working with the line supervisor and Maintenance Manager to come to a proper solution be it mechanical or Associate related.
- Responsible for proper use of JDE and work order system when it’s available.
- Responsible for actual repair of equipment when necessary, this is a hands-on supervisor job.
- Assists Maintenance Planner to insure your shift’s work orders are handled properly.
- Notifying the Maintenance Manager or Human Resources in a timely manner of all pertinent issues.
- Responsible for scheduling work for all maintenance Associates.
- Responsible for completing time & attendance reports in a timely manner and returning to Human Resources. - Must communicate and administer all Company policies and procedures consistently.
- Will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
- Assists Maintenance Manager in completing all goals assigned to the Maintenance Department.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    FOOD SAFETY PRODUCTION AREAS

- Notify Supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
- Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container
      policy while in the Production Areas.
- Perform all duties necessary to meet American Institute of Baking (AIB), Company, and or
      Government requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company.
- Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
- Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety
      and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients,
      processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and
      Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
- In the absence of immediate supervisor, will assume necessary operational and administrative duties.


Job Qualifications

      Education : Electrical, Electronics, Engineering Technology, Or Welding, technical degree or military equivalent required. Must possess one degree and have a working knowledge of the other areas.

      Experience (Years/Type) : Previous supervisory experience in a Maintenance department preferred. Must have a general knowledge of all maintenance functions.
- Must be able to work any shift.
- Must possess strong communication skills, both orally and written.
- Must organize effectively.
- Must have computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Outlook.
