Production Team Leader - Ogden, UT

MAIN DUTIES:
• Review the production schedule to prepare for the products that will be running during the shift.
• Review the production rates from the previous day and investigate the causes and possible solutions to any problems reflected in the metrics.
• Continually inspect the production area to verify that everything is operating properly.
• Update the production board every two hours to communicate the number of cases that were produced and noting any problems that might have resulted in reduced production.
• Continually verify that the products meet specifications.
• Verify (in two hour intervals) that the labels being applied to the clamshells and cases are correct.
• Distribute production specifications to the Leads keeping them informed of the details for each of the products that they are running for their shift and to ensure the appropriate amount of employees on the line.
• Facilitate a five minute employee meeting each day to keep the employees informed of safety precautions, performance, policies, etc.
• Verify that the Label Operators are keeping an accurate record of the products which are being produced.
• Complete employee vacation forms, status change forms and terminations in a timely manner.
• Coach employees that are not meeting their performance goals and reward employees for good performance.
• Effectively administer and follow corporate policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of the people and materials.
• Responsible for Food Safety, Food Defense and Food Quality.
• Accomplish production goals while maximizing production yield and minimizing production waste and scrap.
• Maintain neat and accurate records.
• Maintain quality standards.
• Minimize employee turnover.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
• Ability to effectively correct any problems that occur within his/her area production area.
• Possess a general working knowledge of the production machinery.
• Capable of managing a production change-over.
• Familiar in reading and understanding specification sheets.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal relationship skills.

EDUCATION:
• H.S. Diploma or GED. Post High School education preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
• 2 – 4 years of managerial experience in a production setting with experience in Quality and Safety.
