KEY RESULT AREAS:

This position is focused on internal communications. The Communications Manager will lead the development and deployment of innovative communications that support business objectives and positively drive employee engagement.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads the development of strategic, integrated internal communications plans for the division.
  • Drive innovation, imagination, continuous learning, and effectiveness in employee communications.
  • Support key internal communications vehicles, including employee meetings, town hall sessions and publications. Participate in the communications planning and execution of initiatives including employee surveys, employee branding and global business practices.
  • Provide regular and ongoing counsel to management throughout all divisions on internal communications strategies. Identify creative opportunities for management to communicate with internal audiences.
  • Leverage our Employee Value Proposition to support recruitment strategies that drive improved attraction and retention metrics.
  • Manage all aspects of the division intranet to ensure content is regularly updated and the medium is effective through the measurement of site visits. Works with Corporate IT for intranet integration with the Corporate site.
  • Research and write a wide variety of internal communications, including emails, PowerPoint presentations, management communications, newsletters, bulletin board postings, flyers, web-casts, and intranet content.
  • Works closely with the Sr. Manager of Talent Management to support the development and implementation of the divisional Value Proposition and internal branding strategy.
  • Aligns with Marketing to link external communications opportunities to internal messaging.
  • Work with subject matter experts and appropriate vendors to develop appropriate employee engagement tactics

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops training programs to support employee development and/or compliance initiatives.
  • 15% travel will be required for this position.

    Job Qualifications


    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, or related discipline is required; Bachelor's or Master's in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications is preferred.

    Experience:
    • 7-10 years of relevant experience required.
    • Proven ability to develop and execute results-driven internal communications strategies that are aligned with business goals and objectives. Dedication to quality and innovative thinking.
    • Experienced leader with strong initiative and ability to handle multiple projects/roles in an evolving environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated program development/execution.
    • Ability to create original and compelling content from information extracted from multiple sources and develop messaging relevant to target audiences.
    • Corporate Communications/Writing, superior writing skills are a must. Ability to interview internal clients, quickly understand key messages and provide solid strategic communications counsel. Strong editing and project management skills and has experience or a keen interest in the effective use of technology for communications.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and confidentially to plan and execute communications regarding sensitive topics.
    • Skilled in internal branding, intranet content management and design, and communications vehicle development, a plus.
    • Experience using content development products such as Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or other intranet content management tools, a plus.
