Job Description

MAIN DUTIES:

Direct all manufacturing activities in both Production and Packaging.
Improve departmental efficiencies through the use of Teamwork, Root Cause Analysis, MOS and Continuous Improvement principles.
Responsible for training and development of employees in respective areas/equipment to expand job knowledge and flexibility.
Review Production schedule for proper sequencing of product and recommend revisions or adjustments to scheduling personnel.
Controls costs for staffing, scrap, downtime, etc.
Maintain current operational yields and labor standards.
Evaluate and recommend improvement in Policy and Procedure.
Maintain cordial relations with peers and employees.
Perform annual hourly evaluations.
Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the Production/Packaging equipment.
Troubleshoot problems and notify the necessary management personnel to determine the root cause and resolution.
Ensure compliance with all Food Safety, SQF, GMP, HACCP, etc. procedures.
Ensure and enforce Company Safety policies to provide a safe work environment.
Ensure and support the execution, maintenance, and sustainability of the SQF and MOS Programs.
Run production tests with R&D personnel for new product development.
Conduct product inventory - cycle counts.
Efforts toward Process Improvements.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Basic computer skills.
Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills.
Technical training in field.

Job Qualifications

EDUCATION:

High School diploma/GED required. BS/BA Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

5 + years experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in a supervisory leadership role.
